This wasn’t just a retreat, it was an immersion. A deep remembering.

Rose didn’t just take us to beautiful places on the island of Samothraki, she introduced us to them. Each place felt like a living, breathing being with its own essence, its own medicine, its own message and conversations to be had, with the energy that lived in each space.

We weren’t there to do, but to be, to listen, to feel, to receive.

At times I found myself wondering what practices we might do that day, what rituals or movement or teachings might unfold… and instead, we were invited into nothingness. And in that “nothing,” I received everything.

One day, Rose led us to a hidden waterfall. We climbed barefoot over sun-warmed rocks, feeling the earth beneath us, shedding our layers—both literal and unseen—as we reached the pools. There were no instructions, no talking. Just an invitation into silence.

We slipped into the cool water, let it hold us. We played, freely, joyfully—with the waterfalls, with our naked bodies, with the sun and the dragonflies. Movement emerged like song. Stillness came like prayer.

It was wild, ancient, and sacred. A homecoming.

When was the last time you spent hours, without words, without clothes, just being… with women, rocks, waterfalls?

No agenda. No performance. Just presence. And if you can’t remember … or if you’ve never experienced it. Please gift yourself that.

Rose’s connection with the land is intimate and reverent. It’s as though the island speaks to her, and through her, to us. She doesn’t lead with control, she follows the whispers of the earth, of where the island tells us we need to go and we get to walk with her.

I fell in love with Samothraki. It’s the most healing place I’ve ever been. So much so that I returned for six more weeks. She is medicine. And even when I’m not there, I’ve regularly felt her as a resource, from a distance.

I’ve never been in a retreat like this before.

To be held by nature, truly… is to remember there’s nothing left to fix. Nothing more we need to do.

Just be. And let it in.

Rose held the most safe and sacred space, enabling us to feel secure , to truly relax, open, and be unafraid to look inside the landscape of our inner world….to ask questions without demanding answers of our deepest inner feelings longings hopes desires. Having been quite nervous on the way to the Fort, within moments of arriving I felt grounded , curious about the journey and unafraid to share. The molecules within began to bounce, talk to each other, so that I felt integrated and at one with the world outside whilst connected to self, no sense of “ otherness” , immersed in the beauty of nature. Feet planted on warm safe solid Mother Earth. Insides smiling at the breathtaking beauty of the earth the air the sky the sea that surrounded us . A fire in my belly kindled, stoked..freeing flowing grateful. The surroundings so incredibly beautiful…the ice cold morning sea swims the warming sauna, the time the space to reflect. The incredibly comfortable luxurious bed ! The breathtakingly incredible plant based food with which we were nourished heart soul and body. Walking barefoot in the grass, breathing deeply of the pure air, eyes wide at the vast sky, beckoning to possibilities for growth , repair , healing energy.

 All the journeys and practices Rose led us into onto and beyond I am so grateful for , and as I sit now in the urban landscape of the city , I can still access those feelings of wonderment openness gratitude and love. Rose led us on journeys which opened my heart, soul, body, holding a space within which everything was allowed and welcome. Mindful at all times of the deep emotions these practices can bring up, Rose led with such beautiful tenderness, and held us in a place of reassurance and safety. Following these at times very moving experiences she took great care to help us come back to ourselves,  closing with the warmest nurturing ceremony during which we were able to wrap and encircle ourselves with protective light. I was constantly surprised and grateful for all the small touches , gifts given with such gentleness…from crystals to dream seed cards. After just two nights and three days I felt as if I had been in her presence for an incalculable amount of time. A space carved out of time in the beauty of nature and human embrace. Thank you Rose

I arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon slightly nervous not knowing what to expect and at the same time I had an absolute understanding that somehow I was not meant to be anywhere else. Every moment that unfolded from the very first moment I met Rose reassured me that I had been right to listen to my intuition. I felt so held in the space that Rose had created and so very safe. Physically safe as well as emotionally and spiritually. From Rose’s non-linear movement session, to Shelley’s breath work practice, to the extraordinary food that Charlotte created in the kitchen, every moment felt like it was sprinkled with magic stardust. The attention that was given to every detail was astounding and so very special. Rose’s ability to feel into the group and intuitively know what we all needed was magical. After a gruelling few years it was the miracle I had prayed for. Thank you so much Rose!

I absolutely loved the Wild Artist retreat you created. It was a joy to be held with such integrity by you three wonderful humans. Shelly's got a beautiful, insightful, experienced & trustworthy sense and I felt very safe being held in process with her during the transformative breathwork.

The retreat was indeed everything I had hoped it would be and more. I was touched by the way Rose held space so beautifully for us all and allowed us to just be as we were - in all the messy, primitive processing. It was indeed the right retreat at the right time for me. Connecting to the space and nature in the simple explorations she created for us was wonderful. I loved the movement sessions and the journey Rose took us on, the work felt quite deep and profound and yet light at the same time. 

The nourishment was just beyond words, I have not felt so cherished and look after with food for a long, long time. Charlotte is a magnificent treat of creativity with flavour combinations, textures, colours and ingredients galore, exceedingly delightful to be receiving such abundance and joy of plant-based nourishment. 

The entire 3 days was so beautifully put together, with thought, intention, integrity and creativity, it was an absolute treat to be part of it, I can't wait for the next one.

I landed at Polhawn a little ungrounded, I’d arrived home a few days before from a speedy trip abroad so felt tired and in all honesty, in need of my home comforts.

I soon realised that Rose weaving her magic was exactly what I needed; from the moment I arrived the fort with its beautiful architecture, gardens and unbelievable feeling of a safe refuge was balm to my soul.  The days were carefully curated and gradually a sense of ease and relief from the outside world became normal. 

As a group we were truly spoilt with the most amazing food prepared with enormous love and care by Charlotte; it felt ritualistic.  We were offered practices to enrich and nourish and understand our inner worlds from both Rose and the wonderful Shelley…  too many to list but the overall takeaway was one of peace, acceptance and calm.

I honestly took over a week for the inner peace to dissipate; I turned my radio off both at home and in the car and found myself drawn to solitude and meditative walks.  Of course, real life finds its way back in eventually but there is still within me an echo of the retreat and one I will nurture and cherish.

Thank you to Rose, Shelley and Charlotte for the most amazing couple of days, I will definitely return.

The attention to detail regarding my personal stay and the attentiveness within the activities was really special and thoughtful. The location is absolutely stunning - perfect for whatever you are feeling and dealing with. 

Rose, Shelley and Charlotte are just wonderful, compassionate and extremely competent to not only create, but guide us through their respective specialisms. It all came together so cohesively giving me a wonderful experience to recharge and re-connect with myself. Thank you! I’m really looking forward to the next.

I am so glad I joined;  my first experience of a retreat and I was anxious but loved every experience. Rose and Shelley created a safe space, no pressure to share or feeling of judgement. I feel I have gained tools to start the journey to find me again. The weekend exceeded my expectations, and I met some special souls. Charlotte created food and tastes like I have never experienced before. I feel as a whole nourished, a stunning venue, tranquil-nature-sea swimming-sauna watching dolphins pass through.. a weekend of memories I will always cherish. Paula 💓
