Rose Wicksteed Casting

Rose has worked for the past 20 years in the film and television industry. Primarily as a Casting Director, her career began as a Casting Assistant for award-winning Casting Directors: Nina Gold, Lucinda Syson, Elaine Grainger & Jina Jay - for directors including Jane Campion, Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuarón, Tom Hooper, Robert Zemeckis & Richard Eyre.  In 2009, she set up as a Casting Director and created the company Rose Wicksteed Casting.  

Her credits include: BAFTA nominated and BIFA award winning film THE SURVIVALIST; UK Casting on Martin Scorsese's HUGO;  the first two seasons of the Golden Globe nominated and Emmy award winning show GENIUS: EINSTEIN and GENIUS: PICASSO for Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Fox 21 & National Geographic; the award-winning show, THE GREAT for Hulu; UK Casting on the final season of HOMELAND for Fox 21 & Showtime & BLACK CAKE for Hulu, executive produced by Oprah Winfrey.  She recently cast the final film in the hugely popular franchise, THE CONJURING: LAST RITES for New Line.

Since 2020, Rose has facilitated retreats and sessions to support creatives in industry to tune into their intuition, to nurture and empower themselves.  Last year she offered a workshop to 42 actors from 21 countries during the Cannes Film Festival and recently led a weekend retreat in the UK.  She is also a Creative consultant for Polhawn Fort, on the Cornish coast and currently writing her first book.  She enjoys supporting artists and creatives to re-connect with the original spring of their art. 

A member of the Casting Society of America (CSA); Casting Director's Guild (CDG) (UK); Television Academy (Emmy) (USA) & BAFTA (UK) and a Screen International Star of Tomorrow (2014). She was nominated in 2014 for an Artios Award for short film ‘Room 8’ and won an Artios Award in 2021 for casting on the TV series The Great (Hulu).  In 2025 she was nominated for Outstanding Contribution to Culture and Creativity by Brunel University Alumni.
